Take notes without taking notes

You talk. noFriction listens, transcribes on your device, and turns the conversation into notes you can act on. The example: a 34-minute kickoff call with a new client.

Record the conversation

Step 1

Tap Record and say what it is

Choose Meeting, how long it should run (it stops by itself, or pick No limit), and an optional Notebook such as "Brightwater pilot" to keep related recordings together.

If the meeting is on your calendar, the recording takes its name and the people invited.

Tell people you're recording. In many places everyone must agree.

The transcript appears as people talk. It's made on your iPhone or Mac, so it works offline and nothing leaves your device.

Mark what matters

Step 2

Tap Mark this moment

One tap marks it Important. Within a few seconds you can change it to Question or Follow up, and add a short note.

On a Mac, press ⌃⌥⌘M to mark even while your call or slides are in front.

Step 3

Stop, then Make notes

Open the recording and tap Make notes. You get a summary, the decisions and the action items, with owners and dates only when someone actually said them.

On a Mac, once AI is set up, notes are made automatically when a recording longer than six minutes stops.

Step 4

Send the follow-up

Tap Follow-up email for a short draft to the people who were there, recapping what was decided and who does what. Edit it and share it from your mail app.

On the Mac, the same notes sit next to the recording list, filtered by notebook.

Find it later

Step 5

Search anything that was said

In Recordings, search titles, people, topics or any word that was said. On a Mac, press ⌘K; clicking a matching line opens the recording at that moment.

Step 6

Or just ask

Chat answers questions from your own recordings, like "What action items are still open?". Every answer cites the recording it came from; tap a citation to jump there.

Set up AI once

Notes, Chat and follow-up emails use AI you choose. Nothing is set up until you choose it.

Settings → AI. A card fills in the address and model; the key is yours.

More ways to use it

Weekly team sync

Keep every sync in one notebook, mark Follow up when someone takes something on, and ask Chat "What's still open for Acme?" before the next one.

Doctor's appointment

Record it as Personal in a "Health" notebook. You get a summary, key points and to-dos, so you don't have to remember the dosage or the next step.

Interview or research call

Mark each strong quote as Important, then find it later by searching a word from it. Strike anything from the record and it's gone everywhere.

Next: Capture a class and study from it.
